I’ve been coming to the Black Bear Diner in Arden for a while, and I have to say the difference since Ashley started working here is amazing. The service feels friendlier and more attentive, and the whole place has a cleaner, more welcoming vibe. Ashley really goes above and beyond…she’s professional, quick, and makes you feel like a valued guest. It’s clear she cares about her job and her customers. You can really notice the positive change in both service and cleanliness at this location, and I honestly credit a lot of that to her. Thanks, Ashley, for helping turn this place around …you’ve made this Black Bear my go-to spot again!

California diner, pretty much what you'd expect. Lots of options, good food, good service, and a unique atmosphere. Every time we come to California we make sure to come to a Black Bear Diner!

I went there on my birthday to use my birthday freebie meal. They gave me the choice to choose either 2 pancakes, 2 waffles, biscuits & gravy, 2 eggs ( cooked my way), sausage or bacon. I ordered the biscuits & gravy with both bacon & sausage & my eggs easy over. I ordered it to go. What I didn't expect was that the biscuits & gravy would consist of 4 huge biscuits smothered in gravy ( pics posted). As I was waiting for my order I asked if I was allowed to use more than 1 coupon at a time since I had a coupon for a free meal just for signing up. They said "no problem"..so a ordered a second meal (same items as the first) to give to my boyfriend. Not bad...2 huge breakfast meals..for FREE!! Not to mention the delicious aroma filling the whole restaurant. Excellent food. Excellent customer service. Of course I'll highly recommend this restaurant!! Of course I'll be coming back to try their on there dishes!! 2nd visit..ordered their Waffles with extra butter, maple syrup, strawberries & whipped cream, 2 eggs over easy, 2 strips of bacon (to go). Again.. excellent customer service & the meal was absolutely delicious!!

Exactly what I ask for. Waffle, right? The butter MELTS, because it's served hot. This is not the international place, where in-restaurant customers are an afterthought. No sub-zero frozen butter to accompany an already-cold waffle. And, yeah, the bacon is crisp, you limp-bacon people, but only because I asked for it that way -- fear not the crispy pig. In a fallen world, these people are still doing it right. Others' orders going by looked more conventional. The service has been spot-on, too.

This large and friendly standalone restaurant is known for their huge portions, log cabin atmosphere and fair prices. The servers are friendly and the delicious food comes out attractively prepared and fast. Portions are huge. Black Bear Diner is a regional chain open 365 days a year serving good solid diner fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh, and did I mention huge portions?
